On a Clear Day…

On a Clear Day…

It is amazing how the Colorado Rocky Mountains look when there is no traffic and no forest fires the mountains shown with incredible clarity.  The reflections in the lake broken by the ice formations add to the scene.  One does not have to look too closely to see, sandwiched between the mountains and the lake, a Loveland suburb.  Just like in real life, the neighborhood is nestled between the mountains and the water.

Buoy Blue In Solitude

Buoy Blue In Solitude

This is one of those images that started out with a question.  In this case - What is that?  So I did what any self-respecting photographer would do.  Take a snap shot of it and magnify the image in the LCD on the camera.  Even then I didn't know what it was, but it was interesting so I framed up a composition and took a couple of frames.  The image still needed to be extensively cropped to get what I was going for.  Finally, I realized what the image was.  What do you think? Is it animal, vegetable or mineral?

The Sermon

The Sermon

… and then …

This image brings up the memory of attending morning mass as a fourth grader in a catholic school.  A small group of students, who didn't really want to be there, in a cavernous cathedral during a boring homily or sermon.  That is what this gulp of cormorants reminds me of hence the title.
